Wedding Tip #9387 - Give Yourself Enough Time for Photos

If you have a long list of photos that you want, and ten different locations that you want to hit, even if it is in a small venue, make sure you are giving yourself enough time for photos. Ceremony time goes into the photography time afterwards, so if you have booked a photographer for an hour, and your ceremony lasts thirty minutes, that means you really do have only thirty minutes left for ANY photos you want afterwards - that includes all group photos wanted, as well as romantics or any fun photos around.

Group photos take longer than expected - people are chilling around and talking to each other, they may not be paying attention; it takes time for people to come up and sit down; it takes time to pose everyone and make sure they look great. It takes time to walk to locations. Sure, if there are no weddings or events to go to, as a photographer, I'm happy to spend more time together with you, but if there are other events or places I need to go, I won't be able to give you that extra time. Always, always make sure you are giving yourself enough time for everything: getting ready, coming to the venue, taking photos. You don't want to be rushed on your day no matter what aspect it is and you definitely want all those lovely photos on your list.
